TV for NFB
17 July 2008
Our property and construction team is keeping the National Federation of Builders (NFB) in the headlines as the lead commentator on the escalating housebuilding crisis.
We've secured briefings and interviews across a wide selection of mainstream national news outlets, working with housing policy spokesperson Roger Humber to position the NFB as 'the voice of construction'.
In the last week, results have included two prime-time TV interviews on the BBC's 6 O'clock Ten O'clock News and articles in the
Financial Times,
Daily Telegraph and
The Guardian.
Gas project gets planning approval
8 May 2008
We've just completed a successful public consultation exercise for a natural gas storage facility in Cheshire on behalf of client British Salt.
Cheshire County Council recently granted planning permission for the proposals, which include converting underground salt caverns close to Middlewich and the development of a gas processing facility at British Salt's site.
As part of the process, Citypress led a full stakeholder management programme, working closely with British Salt, local councillors, businesses and residents to communicate the reduced impact, safety and strategic importance of the project. A series of one-to-one briefings, public presentations and printed factsheets for the local community were delivered as soon as the plans were made public.
Read Hot!
14 April 2008
We've served up some sizzling coverage on the latest Hot 100 list of Britain's fastest-growing companies for client Real Business magazine.
In the nationals, we placed the feature as the lead story in the Mail on Sunday's Enterprise Zone – the section dedicated to start up and entrepreneurial businesses – with a circulation of more than 2.2m people. We also negotiated this year's league table to feature on the Daily Mail's award-winning website
www.thisismoney.co.uk
Tailored versions of the story – highlighting local businesses featured in the list of elite entrepreneurs – were placed in regional daily newspapers across the UK. Leaving no stone unturned, we also developed sector stories for leading vertical media.

Law firm opts for green annual review
28 March 2008
We've designed the first annual report for top 100 law firm Keoghs.
The Bolton-based firm – which employs over 500 staff and specialises in insurance and fraud legal services – has grown by 70% since 2002 to a turnover of more than £24m.
Together, we took the decision to produce the annual review as an e-book – a green, cost effective and distinctive way of letting their employees, clients and prospects know the full story behind their success.

In't Milk Brilliant
26 March 2008
After our recent trip round a creamery with new client Meadow Foods, we're seriously into dairy. Meadow buys 400m litres of the white stuff every year and turns much of it into tasty stuff like condensed milk and chocolate crumb (one of the first ingredients used in making chocolate). We've just produced a really nice information pack to tell everyone about the company and we're running a campaign to encourage more farmers to sell their milk to Meadow.
Sew green
11 March 2008
Looks like it's curtains for plastic bags now that M&S is charging for them and they've become the latest symbol of environmental waste. Quick to spot this as an opportunity for Brother, we've launched a Recycle-a-Bag initiative to boost sales of their sewing machines.
Working with Brother's team of sewing experts we've produced a guide to making shopping bags from recycled fabric. This has been promoted through a national consumer media campaign. If you fancy creating your own eco-carrier download the guide or visit

Lifetime homes
26 February 2008
As the Government announced its new Lifetime Homes policy in February – designed to make all new homes adaptable for the elderly by 2013 – we were at the ready with reactive comment from the nation’s housebuilders. Our client the House Builders Association – which represents 800 firms – was concerned about the lack of consultation with the industry and the potential costs involved in meeting the new 16-point checklist of standards. We used a mixture of broadcast, online and print media to call for urgent meetings with ministers to discuss the plans.
Within two hours of the announcement, press coverage included an interview on BBC TV Breakfast News, regional radio across the UK, as well as:
BBC Online
Evening Standard
Guardian Online
Cains fame
25 February 2008
We’ve had great media pick-up for the launch of Cains’ Best of British lager bottles, which have a label designed by Beatles’ cover-artist Sir Peter Blake.
The BBC, Associated Press and the Press Association news agencies have all syndicated the story around the world, proving that anything Beatles-related is still in massive demand.

It's aimed at helping companies to reduce their impact on the environment and save money in the process.
The great escape
20 January 2008
Our consumer team has been working with The Co-operative Travel, helping to strengthen its position as the leading source of news on consumer travel trends and highlighting the value of independent high street travel agents.
As British holidaymakers started planning their 2008 holidays, we provided media with a series of stories showing how they could get best value for their holiday pound. This resulted in widespread national coverage including the Times, Telegraph, Sun, Daily Express, Daily Mail and regional coverage across The Co-operative Travel retail network.
The source of these news stories has largely been The Co-operative Travel's own sales information, showing that it's not always necessary to look to survey companies to provide valuable data.
Aqua-Pura website
1 December 2007
Have a look at the new website we've developed for Aqua-Pura.
It's part of our campaign to promote the brand and its partnership with UK Athletics and the Great Run series of events.
Aqua-Pura is doing a lot of positive work to raise awareness of the importance of keeping hydrated during exercise.
