Citypress wraps up home delivery account
3 September 2009

The UK's largest dedicated business to consumer parcel carrier, Home Delivery Network Limited (HDN), has appointed Citypress following a competitive pitch.
Merseyside based HDN delivers to over 1.7m postcodes with a 50-strong depot network and 2,500 drivers, servicing over 140 retailers including online shopping giants such as ASOS and Tesco.com.
Citypress will help position HDN as the partner of choice for customer-focussed online retailers through an integrated digital and PR campaign.
Figures from Verdict show that online and TV retailing is growing at more than 10 per cent, outstripping total retail growth by almost three times. The recent IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index shows that UK shoppers spent £22.9 billion online in the first six months of 2009.
Citypress director Martin Currie said: "There's a quiet revolution taking place in online shopping, with customers looking for greater choice and flexibility over how and when they receive their goods. The brands that are winning are those embracing change, empowering their customers and providing the best possible customer experience. Our approach will be to leverage HDN's market leading products, capabilities, expertise and process control, using the success of its retailer clients to support the company's proposition and bring it to life."
Mike Snell, Sales and Marketing Director at HDN, said: "The team at Citypress demonstrated, an in-depth understanding of our market and true insight into the drivers in online retail. Their approach is disciplined, research-led and evidence-based, and we look forward to working with them."
