Bruntwood: Building town centre partnerships that work for councils and communities
Few places stir local feeling quite like a town centre.
We lead communications for Bruntwood’s £50m town centre joint venture programme across Greater Manchester, spanning Stamford Quarter in Altrincham and Stretford Mall with Trafford Council, and Mill Gate shopping centre with Bury Council.
Each scheme brings together homes, workspace, public realm and transport, and each has to satisfy residents, civic leaders, occupiers and investors at the same time.
Our media relations and stakeholder engagement are designed to give council leaders and officers a credible public account of why the partnership is the right choice.
We tailor our approach to each partnership’s stage, communicating the early-stage Mill Gate quite differently from the more established Stamford Quarter, and handle every announcement with the next one in mind so that credibility builds with each milestone.
Alongside the schemes, we position Bruntwood as a leading voice on regional economics and urban regeneration with government, national media and the business community. Chris Oglesby OBE and Jessica Bowles are regularly called on by national correspondents to share the lessons of Greater Manchester.
It left Bruntwood ready to lead the conversation as national attention turned to the city with Andy Burnham’s appointment as Prime Minister and the arrival of No.10 North in Manchester.
