Citypress appoints Jon Robinson as first Head of News
13th January 2026
Citypress, the employee-owned communications agency, has appointed Jon Robinson as its first Head of News.
Jon joins Citypress from City AM, where he is UK Editor, leading the publication’s evolution from a London-focused title into a truly UK-wide business news brand. He also hosts City AM’s flagship leadership podcast, Boardroom Uncovered, interviewing senior figures from across business.
With more than a decade of newsroom experience, Jon has held senior editorial roles across some of the UK’s best-known regional and national business titles. This includes serving as North West Business Editor at Reach plc’s BusinessLive, overseeing business coverage across multiple national and regional publications, as well as senior digital and editorial positions at Insider Media and earlier leadership roles at the Lancashire Telegraph.
In his new role, Jon will lead Citypress’ news offer, helping clients navigate a rapidly changing media landscape and maximise editorial impact across traditional and digital channels.
Dominic Pendry, Group Managing Director at Citypress, said: “Jon’s appointment reflects the growing importance of high-quality, trusted news in an age where AI-generated content is everywhere. Organisations that want to stand out need credibility, judgement and a deep understanding of how news really works. Jon brings all of that, alongside exceptional editorial leadership, and he will play a central role in helping our clients earn trust and cut through with substance.”
Jon Robinson said: “Citypress has a strong reputation for combining creativity with strategic thinking, and I’m excited to be building something new as the agency’s first Head of News. My focus will be on helping clients tell stories that stand up to scrutiny, resonate with real audiences and feel credible in a world where trust in information has never been more valuable.”
