Citypress climbs to sixth in UK M&A communications rankings
3rd February 2026
Strategic communications consultancy Citypress has strengthened its position as one of the UK’s leading M&A communications advisors, securing 6th place in Mergermarket’s UK PR advisor league table by deal count for 2025.
The agency’s financial communications team advised on 57 transactions totalling $1.68bn in 2025, up from 47 deals worth $1bn in 2024. Deal activity was generated from a broad client base of private equity investors, venture capital firms, fund managers and corporate clients. This includes LDC, the private equity investor which is part of Lloyds Banking Group; FRP, the specialist business advisory firm listed on AIM; LPPI, a local government pension scheme pool; and GLIL, the infrastructure investment fund.
Sophie Millward, Director at Citypress, said: “In 2025, we saw deal activity return with more consistency as the year progressed. What really characterised the environment, though, was selectivity. High-quality businesses still attracted strong competition and moved quickly, while anything more complex took longer and demanded clearer positioning to maintain momentum and reassure stakeholders.
“In that kind of market, communication becomes even more important. We support clients through the full deal cycle, from early positioning and stakeholder mapping, through announcement strategy and media relations, to employee engagement and integration. The focus is on protecting value and maintaining confidence, while helping teams manage pace and complexity.
“Moving up to 6th place reflects the strength of our client relationships and the range of transactions we supported in 2025. With a healthy pipeline, we expect 2026 to be another strong year for the team.”
The ranking builds on Citypress’ wider industry recognition, which includes accolades such as PRWeek Mid-Sized Consultancy of the Year 2025 and Best Large Agency to Work For 2025.
