Citypress makes senior hire
20th September 2021
Communications consultancy Citypress has expanded its senior management team with the appointment of Dom Pendry.
Dom, whose agency career includes senior roles with MHP, Edelman and Fleishman Hillard, was previously Vice President of Strategic Communications at Bed Bath & Beyond, where he led the US retailer’s response to the pandemic.
Now based in Manchester, he joins the agency’s leadership team as a Director.
Martin Currie, Managing Director of Citypress, said: “Dom is an accomplished comms practitioner and leader with expertise across both brand and corporate comms. We’re seeing demand for quality communications advice increase significantly as more brands look for opportunities in a changing post-pandemic landscape. His experience advising at board level on complex comms challenges makes him an ideal fit and he adds important bench-strength to the team.”
Dom Pendry, Director at Citypress, added: “I’ve been hugely impressed by the calibre and quality of the agency’s work since joining, especially in corporate communications where we’re supporting some of the UK’s highest-profile brands on their strategic agenda. I’m looking forward to building the team and expanding our client services further.”
Dom is the latest senior hire to join the fast-growing agency. Earlier this year, former ITV London news editor and Alton Towers Resort’s communications lead Lizzie Roberts joined its strategic media team.
The agency, which recently became majority employee-owned, has won at the PRWeek Best Places to Work Awards for the last three consecutive years, making it the programme’s most awarded agency in the UK.
So far this year, the agency has announced new briefs with specialist lender Shawbrook Bank, food and farming business Pilgrim’s, global investor and developer Far East Consortium, recycling charity Every Can Counts and pet care business Pets at Home Group. Existing clients include Aldi, Molson Coors, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, British Land and Lloyds Banking Group.
