New partnership to boost career opportunities for young people

17th September 2020

We are supporting the Social Mobility Foundation with mentors from across our network of offices in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Edinburgh and Liverpool who will work with young people and provide them with valuable career experience.

Our support for the mentoring scheme follows a successful trial last summer when we hosted young people for a week’s work experience in our Manchester head office.

The partnership has been developed by Chris Hopper, a senior consultant at Citypress. He said: “We’ve always supported and promoted people based on who they are, not where they come from. But we know that unfortunately there are many young people who, because of their background, find it difficult to take the first steps in their chosen career.

“We’re pleased that with our UK office network we’re able to support the fantastic work of the Social Mobility Foundation in helping to level the playing field in the professional world.”

Samantha Lowerson, of the Social Mobility Foundation, added: “The feedback from the young people who completed their work experience last summer was overwhelmingly positive and the time spent with Citypress was invaluable in helping them decide how they want to shape their careers.

“As a leading PR agency with offices across the UK, Citypress will offer great support by making available mentors with experience of life in the industry.”

Our partnership with the Social Mobility Foundation was praised by judges when we were awarded the top prize in the mid-sized agency category in PRWeek’s Best Places to Work Awards earlier this month.
